Story

San Juan Cotzal, part of the Ixil Triangle, sits at the end of a steep mountain road in the department of El Quiché. Huipiles from San Juan Cotzal are traditionally made from three panels joined together. Each panel is hand woven on a backstrap loom and decorated with brightly colored supplementary brocade.
