one of a kind

The small farming town of Nahualá is surrounded by volcanoes and was known by Spanish settlers as 'the place of sorcerers'. The weaving styles of Nahualá are distinct and often feature colorful bands of diamonds in supplementary brocade.

Part of our vintage collection, this stunning ceremonial textile features the Mayan serpent motif on hand woven indigo. Fringe at one end only. This textile is around 80 years old and shows some wear associated with age. Display hanging on the wall from our ash wood textile holder or use as a runner. Avoid direct sunlight.
