Backstrap looms have been used since ancient times to weave narrow strips of fabric. This bedspread is made from five strip woven panels joined together by decorative rantas (seams). Woven by a women's cooperative committed to using all natural and botanical dyes including indigo, cochineal, and marigold.
Part of our artisanal collection, this thick cotton blanket is woven on a backstrap loom and finished with hand knotted fringe. Dyed with natural indigo.
